Upgrade Information

  •  If you are running the client as a system service on Windows, the following steps have to be done before upgrading to this version:

    • Stop the system service

    • Please add the following settings in your wrapper.conf file located in %programdata%/PowerFolder/service

      • wrapper.app.parameter.2=-c

      • wrapper.app.parameter.3=PowerFolder

    • Start the system service

  • The configuration files gets migrated in this update. It now gets moved from the directory .Powerfolder or PowerFolder to "Distribution Name" or ."Distribution Name".

    • This enables the possibility to install clients of different branding in the same user account with different configuration files.

  • Upgrading any previous version is possible.

  • Clients are compatible with each other from any version.

Downgrade information (optional)

  • In case a downgrade to a previous version:

  • Version 11.5 is forward and backward compatible to older and newer versions.

  • It is not advised to use the setup of the older clients because of the older Java version. Please only replace the PowerFolder.jar in the program directory.

  • If downgrading a client it is necessary to rename the configuration files back to PowerFolder.* else the client will start without any configuration and recreates a new one.
