If you experience some major issues that aren't documented here it might help to completely reinstall the client and purging the old configuration to also ensure that a faulty configuration wasn't the problem.

Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10

Clean Deinstallation

  1. Open the "Control Panel" and press on "Uninstall program" (category view) or press on Programs and Features (icon view).
  2. Search for PowerFolder in the list and start uninstalling it.
  3. While the deinstallation progresses the setup asks you if you want to purge your configuration. Click on Yes.
  4. After the setup finishes it will ask if you want to reboot your system (with installed shell extensions). Please confirm this message and restart your system.
    1. When you have chosen to not install the shell extensions this pop up won't show up. You won't need to reboot your system in this case.
  5. Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ and check if the directory PowerFolder got deleted.
  6. Rename your folders base directory (e.g. C:\Users\<username>\PowerFolders to C:\Users\<username>\PowerFoldersbackup) or delete it if there aren't any files inside.

After you've done that, PowerFolder got completely purged of your system. Now you can start a fresh installation.
