Overview

The PowerFolder Outlook Add-In is an integration tool that connects PowerFolder with Microsoft Outlook, allowing for easy, secure file sharing directly from your email interface. With this add-in, email attachments can be uploaded to a PowerFolder server, generating download links that are accessible to recipients. Attachments are encrypted, and optional password protection ensures that only authorized recipients can access shared files.

System Requirements

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the PowerFolder Outlook Add-In installer.
  2. Run the downloaded file by double-clicking it and follow the on-screen installation instructions.
  3. Restart Outlook to complete the installation.

Configuration

To set up the PowerFolder Outlook Add-In, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings:

    • In Outlook, navigate to the PowerFolder tab.
    • Click on Option 1 to open the configuration settings.
  2. Enter Access Data:

    • Server Address: Input your PowerFolder server address.
    • Username: Enter your PowerFolder username.
    • Password: Enter your password.
    • Click OK to save.
  3. Set Additional FileLink Options (Optional):

    • Download Limit (Option 4): Define the maximum number of times a file can be downloaded.
    • Validity Period (Option 5): Set the number of days the file link remains active.


Attachment Size Limitations:

  • If Outlook is configured with Microsoft Exchange Server, the default attachment size limit is 20 MB. You can modify this limit through the Exchange Server settings.

Troubleshooting and Updates

  • Update Checks: Use Option 3 in the PowerFolder tab to check for and install updates.
