This article describes the requirements of the client regarding hardware, operating systems and third party software. Please check the requirements deeply to not encounter problems during installation or in production use.

Hardware Requirements

There is no general recommendation on hardware requirements for client, since it all depends on the number of folders and files which should be managed. Therefore we just provide a rough figure here.

If you manage about 1.000.000 files, the following hardware is recommended:

  • Minimum i3 / Dual-Core CPU, > 2 GHz
  • Minimum 4 GB RAM

The client only requires about 50MB of disk space for the program itself. The disk space for the data has to be scaled according the expected data which should be managed by the client.

  • TCP / 443: Web Interface HTTPS
  • TCP / 80: Tunnel HTTP for data exchange between clients behind a firewall and the server
  • TCP / 1337: Data for data exchange between clients and the server

(error) Please note that the usage of FAT file system is not supported, use the other file system e.g, NTFS instead of FAT.

(minus) Usage of USB-Devices are not recommended from us.

*Because of the huge amount of distributions we are limiting our support and tests to Ubuntu LTS and OpenSUSE Leap distributions.

The client should work on basically every operating system which supports a recent version of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment.
